AFF launches television ad calling on Rep. Udall to support energy exploration

Des Moines, IA – American Future Fund (AFF) today launched its latest television ad, “Oil Resources,” calling on Congressman Mark Udall to support HR 6108, which will help reduce energy prices by allowing for a vote on offshore drilling.

“While the U.S. House and Senate are on a five week vacation, AFF will not sit idly by while meaningful energy legislation continues to be ignored,” said AFF Communications Director Tim Albrecht. “Whether it is the volatile Middle East, or recent events in Eastern Europe, the United States Congress must wake up and realize what is at stake. The American people recognize we need energy independence. Why won’t Congress follow their lead?”

The ad will run statewide in Colorado starting today, and can be viewed at www.youtube.com/americanfuturefund.

This ad will be seen by Coloradoans on network and cable television in the Denver, Colorado Springs, and Grand Junction markets.

AFF has taken a leading national role on energy.  Last month, AFF  unveiled a seven-point, America First Energy Agenda. Since that time, AFF has run statewide radio ads in Nevada and in Washington, D.C., encouraging Sen. Harry Reid to allow a vote on energy exploration.

So long as the U.S. House and U.S. Senate continue to stonewall on this issue, AFF will continue to highlight the issue across the country.

“Congressman Udall talks about drawing a line in the sand. Unfortunately, he’s on the wrong side of it when he continues to block efforts to drill for more oil. Congressman Udall can illustrate to Coloradans he’s very serious about enacting policies that relieve our dependence on foreign dictators for our oil by supporting HR 6108,” continued Albrecht.

The script of the ad is as follows:

ANNCR:

On the issue of gas prices: think about this: The US has more oil resources than Saudi Arabia.

Congress has put up to 85% of these resources off limits.

We are the only country to do that.

Cuba is preparing to drill off the Florida coast…but America can’t.

Mark Udall has repeatedly voted against the development of American energy.

No surprise The Wall Street Journal says gas could go up to $6.00 a gallon.

Tell Mark Udall: vote yes on HR 6108.
