American Future Fund is releasing a new TV ad today, entitled “Promises” and putting over $500,000 behind it in Minnesota.

We’ve heard it all before.  Literally.  The ad is a powerful reminder of President Obama’s empty promises, featuring video clips of him during his 2008 presidential campaign and today, saying the same things.

In 2008, President Obama empathized with Americans “going through tough times.”  He promised to create millions of new jobs, build roads and bridges, pay down the national debt and put people back to work.  He promised “change will come.”  The problem is, he is repeating those same phrases in 2012 as if he’s forgotten he’s been the one in charge these last four years and was responsible for those very changes.

“After four years in the most powerful office in the world, President Obama is still playing the blame game for America’s sad financial state,” stated AFF Founder Nick Ryan.  “By his own admission, he had plenty of time to make progress.  Instead he sounds like a broken record, pointing fingers and making the same lofty promises.  But this time his words fall on the deaf ears of millions of struggling Americans.  We can’t afford four more years of the same speeches.  It is time for the President to take responsibility for his bungled policies and inadequate leadership.”
