Today, American Future Fund released two TV ads in Arizona’s 1st Congressional District, where former Member of Congress Ann Kirkpatrick, and former Legislator and Army Reserve Intelligence Officer Jonathan Paton, will face each other in the general election this November.
The ad called “Walk,” addresses Ann Kirkpatrick’s failure to tackle the problems facing her state and nation. Arizona is full of courageous citizens who are not afraid to face challenges head on. But when faced with adversity, Kirkpatrick walked out on her constituents during a town hall meeting. After she lost re-election in 2010, Kirkpatrick spent an outrageous $100,000 of taxpayer money on her staff in her final two days in office.
The ad called “Fought,” highlights Jonathan Paton’s qualifications for office. Paton is an Army Reserve intelligence officer, a veteran of the Iraq War, and a former legislator who bravely fought for his country and served the people of Arizona with pride. He wrote the first law cracking down on human trafficking and passed what was the largest tax cut in Arizona history at the time. Paton has a proven track record as a courageous, trustworthy leader, unafraid to take on tough challenges.
“With unemployment above 8%, and the national debt over $16 trillion, we need serious leaders,” stated Nick Ryan, founder of American Future Fund. “Ann Kirkpatrick was given a chance to represent this great state in Congress, but voters knew she wasn’t cutting it and did not elect her to a second term. Jonathan Paton is a man of integrity and proven leadership that Arizonans can be proud of. Ann Kirkpatrick is still wrong for Arizona.”
