Alan Wilson was sworn into office in January 2011 as South Carolina's Attorney General. Prior to serving as attorney general, Wilson served as Assistant Attorney General.
As attorney general, Wilson has worked to keep South Carolina families safe and defend the Constitution, assembling a coalition of state and local law enforcement officials to advance legislative priorities. Among Wilson's priorities have been defending South Carolina's right-to-work laws, leading a multi-state challenge to Obamacare, and advance common-sense solutions to ensure mass violence is prevented.
Attorney General Wilson earned a degree from Francis Marion University and his juris doctor from the University of South Carolina. Wilson, an Iraq War veteran, serves as a Lt. Colonel in the National Guard Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps.
