Pending Legislation

Federal Spending and Taxpayer Accessibility Act of 2008 - S. 2852: The American Future Fund believes Congress should be held accountable to the people who elect them and their spending transparent. This legislation ensures that the American electorate will have to the tools and resources to monitor Congressional spending and their tax dollars. This legislation would end abusive and secretive earmarks not intended for the good of the people but for special interests.

Gas Price Reduction Act of 2008 – S. 3202: The American Future Fund continues to support Congressional efforts to fight skyrocketing prices at the pump. S. 3202 addresses those concerns directly by offering comprehensive solutions to the problems facing Americans every day. The plan is designed to find a balanced solution to high gas prices by allowing more production of natural gas and oil and encouraging consumers to use less.

Deep Ocean Energy Resources Act of 2008 – H.R. 6108: The American Future Fund believes America needs to become energy independent and one of the first steps in doing so is to allow for more domestic energy exploration both in ANWR and the Continental Shelf. The pending legislation allows for the exploration, development, and production activities for mineral resources on the outer Continental Shelf.

American Energy Independence and Price Reduction Act of 2008 – H.R. 6107: Allowing America to become energy independent is a core principal in sustaining a free market economy. H.R. 6107 provides comprehensive solutions to America’s energy crisis by allowing the Secretary of the Interior to establish and implement a competitive oil and gas leasing program that will result in an environmentally sound program for the exploration, development, and production of the oil and gas resources of ANWR.

No More Excuses Energy Act of 2007 – H.R. 3089: One of the most comprehensive pieces of energy legislation created by the US Congress encourages the construction of new refineries, reduces greenhouse emissions, boosts alternative energy development including ethanol and cellulosic ethanol, increases domestic oil production and encourages the construction of new nuclear power plants. All of these measures combined would help ease the pressure at the pump.
