The ad asks whether you’ve had “enough” of higher taxes

“There are 300,000 people without jobs in Massachusetts, this is not the time for higher taxes,” said AFF President Sandy Greiner.

Greiner continued, “People are struggling to put food on the table and provide for their families – the last thing they need to worry about is how much more they are going to owe the government in taxes. It’s time for fiscal restraint and real leadership – not more new taxes.”

The people of Massachusetts need to make their voices heard by calling Martha Coakley today.

ANNOUNCER:

Have you had…enough?

The US unemployment rate is 10%, 300,000 Massachusetts workers don’t have jobs, and families are struggling.

But Washington and Beacon Hill politicians just don’t get it.

And incredibly, Martha Coakley says quote “we need to get taxes up.”

Congress goes on a massive spending spree…trillions of your tax dollars that dig us deeper into debt.

But Martha Coakley supports the reckless spending by Washington politicians – and would vote to spend even more.

And Coakley supports hundreds of billions in new taxes that will hurt Massachusetts families and jobs.

Call Martha Coakley at (617) 727-2200. Tell her we can’t afford more taxes and wasteful spending.

(DES MOINES, IA) – Today, American Future Fund launched a new ad running statewide in Massachusetts. “Martha Coakley refuses to take a “no new taxes pledge” and instead supports the massive spending spree going on in Washington,” said AFF President Sandy Greiner.

Greiner continued, “Instead of endorsing Washington’s reckless spending habits, Martha Coakley should take a stand for fiscal restraint, and conservative principles that ensure money is invested wisely for long-term job creation to get Massachusetts taxpayers back to work,”

The people of Massachusetts need to make their voices heard by calling Martha Coakley today.

Ad encourages people to call Martha Coakley and tell her they can’t afford more new taxes

(DES MOINES, IA) – Today, American Future Fund released a new statewide television ad demonstrating an issues comparison on taxes between Scott Brown and Martha Coakley, and encourages the people of Massachusetts to call Attorney General Martha Coakley and tell her they can’t afford more new taxes.

A recent Rasmussen poll conducted January 4th cited the top concern for Massachusetts citizens is the cost of government-run health care. A whopping, 54% say they can’t afford more new taxes associated with the proposed healthcare legislation pending in Washington. Both Coakley and Brown are in a position to have a significant impact on this legislation in the next few weeks.

Unfortunately, Martha Coakley is not listening to the people of Massachusetts. Coakley is an outspoken supporter of raising taxes, stating recently in a debate “we need to get taxes up.”

“Martha Coakley should listen to the people of Massachusetts. They, like every other taxpayer, are saying “enough” to more new taxes. We can’t afford it,” said AFF President Sandy Greiner.

Greiner continued, “Americans are tired of their elected officials not listening to them. Now is the time for responsible leadership. Call Martha Coakley and personally tell her you can’t afford more new taxes.”

The American Future Fund ad is running statewide in Massachusetts, including on Boston network television.

Let the Cameras In

New Website Launches Urging Democratic Leaders to “Let the Cameras In” on Health Care Negotiations

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Although Candidate Obama said, “When I come together around this health care system, I’m going to do it all in the open. I’m going to do it on C-SPAN,” President Obama has locked the door on the network, opting to engage in secret meetings and back-room negotiations in order to ram his health care agenda through the legislative process. C-SPAN Chairman and CEO Brian Lamb, in a letter sent to Congressional leadership Tuesday, requested that “you open all important negotiations, including any conference committee meetings, to electronic media coverage.” In response, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said, “There has never been a more open process for legislation,” while Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s spokesman said although he respects C-SPAN’s “commitment to ensuring transparency,” there is no plan to allow the network access to health care talks. President Obama has also been silent on the issue.

Today, American Future Fund launches a new website called Let the Cameras In (www.letthecamerasin.com) at which people can sign a petition urging Congressional leadership to stop engaging in back-room negotiations and allow the American public to be informed about the health care debate. Coinciding with the website is a Facebook page(http://www.facebook.com/pages/LetTheCamerasIncom/260684296042?v=wall) where people can stay up-to-date on the campaign for more transparency.

“Congressional leadership’s unwillingness to permit C-SPAN to cover what they are doing begs the question, ‘What are they trying to hide?’ The American people should no longer be in the dark about legislation that will consume 1/6 of our nation’s economy,” said American Future Fund President Sandy Greiner. “The process needs to be more ‘open’ by allowing cameras in.”

“Twas the Night Before Christmas”

“Twas the Night Before Christmas”

Harry Reid and the liberals are voting Christmas Eve on government-run health care

(DES MOINES, IA) – Today, American Future Fund released a new ad for YouTube.com called “Twas the Night Before Christmas.”

At a time when people should be gathering with family and friends, Majority Leader Harry Reid has scheduled a vote on government-run health care.  The bill is laden with pork for certain states and exempts others from paying altogether.  Now, on the eve of the Senate vote we learn the $500 billion in cuts from Medicare will in fact add $300 billion to the deficit.

“It is unfortunate that during a week of celebration, Harry Reid is ramming government-run health care through the Senate – increasing cost to the consumer and increasing the deficit,” said Sandy Greiner.

Greiner continued, “Americans can’t afford this boondoggle and it should be stopped. What we have witnessed in Washington the past week is shameful and Harry Reid is to blame for this government takeover.”

AFF RADIO :60 “TWAS THE NIGHT”

ANNOUNCER:

‘Twas the night before Christmas and Nancy Pelosi adjourned the House

But Harry Reid was still scheming, as Senators groused

It was Christmas Eve…why were they all still there?

Because liberals wanted government-run health care

Back in 1993, they’d tried this before… but Americans said No, remember 1994?

But Reid and Pelosi tried to rush a bill past, and at town halls this summer we said “Too fast!”

Then Virginia and New Jersey caused Blue Dogs a scare…but liberals still would cut $500 billion from Medicare

What’s in this bill — and is this change wise?

Even the non-partisan CBO said costs will still rise

Higher taxes and Medicare cuts hurt us all,

No wonder public support continues to fall

Call your Senators at (202) 224-3121 – please don’t wait…

Tell them we must stop this government takeover — before it’s too late

(DES MOINES, IA) – Today, American Future Fund (AFF) launched a statewide radio ad in Nebraska telling Senator Ben Nelson (D-NE) to do the right thing, and vote “NO” on cloture and “NO” on final passage of the pending health care legislation.

This week, American Future Fund released a poll showing 67% of Nebraskans oppose the current Senate bill. Even more devastating, the poll showed 61% of Nebraskans would not support Sen. Nelson even IF he voted for cloture and voted against the bill. This is evidence that proves how strongly Nebraskans oppose government-run health care.
